ABOUT US

When we have been asked time and time again what our favorite part of teaching is, the answer was always the same: teaching! For the entirety of our time as professional teachers, we never saw it as simply a passion, but as a duty, a calling. Yet, even though we found, many times, that we and our fellow teachers were devoted to teaching our students well, we also saw the unnecessary difficulties which teaching brought firsthand. We saw teachers who wanted to teach freely, but could not because they were not able to choose what they taught and who they taught to. We saw parents who chose to send their children to a school simply because it was “better than the school down the road” and take the baggage that they had to carry with their choice. In the end, what was most devastating was the fact that we saw students who were receiving an education that was either personal and comfortable, or professional, but never both, which left both the student and their family dissatisfied. It was years of wrestling with these difficulties and the like which inspired us to ask the question, “what would learning look like if parents and teachers were truly free?” And so, Liber was born.

Having taught a variety of courses for multiple years in both private and public schools, having developed curricula from the ground up, and having researched and implemented teaching practices with care, we now take our expertise to commit to a singular mission: To make sure that your family will never have to choose between a professional and personal education. We provide the excellence of a private and in-person education while carefully curating that education to each family. With our multi-tiered services, we can begin anywhere from a curricular consultation, or go all the way to provide a comprehensive education which serves as an alternative to the current choices that exist. No matter the level of involvement, we make sure to work alongside your family every step of the way to ensure an excellent education for your children.

WHO WE ARE

Nikhil Jandhyala

My name is Nikhil Jandhyala, and I have been a teacher for the entirety of my profession. Over the course of my profession, I have taught and curated materials for over ten different courses across multiple schools. In my personal education, I have devoted time, both in a graduate program and in my personal time, to learning more about what the state of classical education is, where it began, how it has progressed, and how it can thrive in today’s world. When I am not teaching professionally or researching, my wife and I find our greatest joy in teaching and raising our own children, Virgil and Calliope.

Hello and welcome to Liber! My learning story begins here, in Phoenix: from the second to sixth grade my mother sacrificed much to provide a home education for me and my siblings; from seventh to my high school graduation, I learned much in Classical, Liberal Arts charter schools here in the greater Phoenix area. After graduating from Thomas Aquinas College, a beautiful, Catholic Liberal Arts college tucked away in sunny Southern California, it was my great honor (and even greater pleasure) to return to the valley as a teacher. I cannot express how grateful I am to my teachers and mentors, across these many years, whose dedication and wisdom I have to thank for the exceptional excellence of my education. After working hard, in private and public schools, to pass on the good and beautiful truths I have received, I have embarked on this new mission—with my colleague and long-time friend, Nikhil Jandhyala—to partner more closely with parents in their role as primary educators. I hope, through this mission, to continue honing my craft as a teacher and to learn also from fellow parents as my wife and I homeschool our own three young children. Thank you for reading—I look forward to speaking with you!
